Hi,
I have a Medion MT6 (Type Med MT 198A) which has a Microstar MS7042 motherboard fitted. The motherboard needs replacing and I cannot find one listed anywhere. Does anyone out there know how I can find a new MS 7042 or what is a suitable replacement instead. It is based on a VIA 8237 chipset and the processor is a celeron 2.60 478 pin package. I have trawled around the MS and Medion sites to no avail. Can you help?
Thanks for the info on themanual.

is this the same as the string shown during bootup (at the bottom of the screen), if so then you would (or should) be able to use this board as a replacement

but please do some more checking before you order one.

my info was from the string for the medion pc you described (the bit at the top of this reply), taking off the date at the start, and the 6A7L2M4DC-00
W7042VM7 V1.31 110204 MEDIONPC

leaves PT800-8237 which when you google for in the uk, it shows the link i have given as the first one.

the string info was found at click here and was for the MS-7042 mobo

i hope this is of some help.
