Replace touchpad and keyboard surround?

The touchpad on an old ClevoD4J notebook is u/s and I'm considering attempting to replace it using the spare part from eBay shown here:

I've never done more than replace a battery and add memory before, so do you think this is do-able?

(I've already tried all the software fixes for a defective touchpad, re-installing drivers, Fn key etc, plus even re-installing XP OS!)

Stripping and rebuilding a laptop is not for the faint hearted.

I found using one like this with a small usb wireless unit,click here
Very safe on my laptop less prone to being knocked than some of the bigger ones.
