replace memory

Can I use 400mhz memory instead of 266mhz on a pc2100 computer ?

Maybe - maybe not.

Ideally you should use what the motherboard was designed for - anything much faster may work, may not work, or worst of all may appear to work, but give you strange intermittent, difficult to isolate problems.

PS - it won't work any faster, so IMHO it's not worth the risk.

personally, I would buy faster one. In this way, you can still use it when you upgrade PC in near future

As DieSse says " Maybe - maybe not. "

You really need to consult the motherboard manual to find if it does.
