Replace HDD

  Leepy Lee 18:51 24 Jul 05

My PC is sometimes failing to boot, reporting 'HDD failure...'. Luckily, so far, it always starts OK second or third time. I assume the HDD is on its way out - it is almost six years old!

Is it possible to install a new hard disc and simply copy everything from the existing drive C so that the new one can then become drive C by swapping it for the old drive C?

Cheers all.

Yes it is possible, a lot depends on what you are running but Maxblast seems to do most isclick here
another is XXCopy click here

XXcopy won't work with WinXP - however.

Acronis True Image will clone your drive, and prove an excellent investment for backing up in general.
