Rename folders in Windows XP

Any ideas how I rename folders in Windows XP? The previous owner of my PC had the administrator a\c which I have renamed to mine. However, some of the system folders (documents & settings etc) still have the old name & Windows won't let me change them. Any ideas anyone?

Did the previous owner have a password set?

Apologies if you've already thought of that, by the way!

Not as far as I know.

I've just changed the name of the administrator a\c & there was no password prompt.

look up the attrib command in help and support and see if this helps.

Thanks, I'll have a look.

What does that solve do you reckon?

the attrib command sets and resets file properties such as read only. If your folders are read only then you cannot rename them.
