I never use Windows Live Messenger, yet it always opens up when Ii turn on, and always sits obstinately on my taskbar with no obvious way of making it disappear. Can anyone help?

Whoa there! Messenger has just automatically reopened on my task bar when I booted up, despite having disappeared last time when I uninstalled it.

I am in Windows 7, so I don't think I have a 'run' option, or a box to uncheck, at least not that I can see.

The 'help' for messenger does not feature the word 'disable' apparently.

This looks like a program that microsoft are determined that I should use!

Any further advice would be welcome,

Jonny

Apologies, folks, I have just spotted a menu in Messenger that I missed first time. I've just booted up and there is no sign of it, so thank you mat alan, sea urchin and marg7, hoping that is it this time,

Jonny
