Removing " passthrough" from my computer

Help Please

My computer has been “infected” (presumably) with a cookie that whenever I start IE6 to go on the web it starts:
“" that allows be to connect with my “home page” ( but inserts an index of headings that I can go to….
I have removed the cookies, I have re-entered the home page address in Interenet Options in IE6 etc, but it keeps re-appearing.
I have looked in search but can only find reference to the cookie, which I remove….
How can I get this off my computer?
I’m running XP home edition

Received by email

"Yes, running antivirus, firewall, and if I run adware type program
nothing is detected, but problem still occurs when I go on line"

OK but, have you loaded the homepage guard? This is different to all the other things mentioned.

As €dstow said. Startpage Guard is worth a try, it stopped some scumware trying to alter my home page a while back after it had nipped in under the wire.

Try this link and look for a file called Hijack click here

As the file states when you open it, use with care.
