Removing Samsung ML 4500 laser printer software

I have just bought a printer to replace my Samsung ML 4500. I tried removing the software using the Add/Remove facility (Windows XP SP2) but a subsequent file search shows that the folder and its files are still present under Program Files. It has dissapeared from the Add/Remove list but I had to remove the icon manually from the Printers/Fax list. Any ideas?

Had you have checked your program tree, you would have found that Samsung provides its own un-install program.

I can only suggest, you reinstall and then un-install via Samsung's own utility.

Whether that will solve your problem remains to be seen.

The "correct" way to remove a printer (if it doesn't have its own removal facility) is via Printers and Faxes. Open that, highlight the printer in question, click on "delete this printer" in the box at left and it should then be deleted.
