Removing login box on starting XP Home

  Splodge 00:34 06 Jun 04

Hi all

I have had to re-install Windows XP Home and to my annoyance I now have to click my name to get started.

As I didn't before the crash, I must have done something to allow me to go direct to my screen without doing it.

Trouble is I cannot remember what. I gather Tweakui will do it but, search as I might, I cannot find where, although I have the updated version so it may only be available in the earlier versons.

Please can someone guide me?

Start, Run, type in

control userpasswords2

and click OK.

On the users tab untick "Users must enter a user name and password..."

Thanks I will try that.

I worked, thank you.

I saw the login box flash on to the screen and off again.

Much obliged

You could try freshUI from fresh devices if you want to change some other things aswell or even search the 3w for microsoft powertoys.asp as an extra help, otherwise - above
