Im using windows xp , when computer starts up it used to go straight to the welcome screen and load up, since installing some software last night when computer boots up it goes to the log in screen and waits for me to click on my user name. Could anyone please tell me how to turn the log in screen off so windows boots up without it. I have tried going into user accounts but can't see anywhere you can amend it.

Control Panel; User Accounts; Change the way Users log on or off. Untick 'Use the Welcome screen'.

It's likely that Microsofts .NET Framework was installed alongside the software that you were installing.

Go to Windows update & download the update to .NET and all will be as it was!

(Always a good idea to keep up to date with Windows critical updates)
