Removing items from 'add/remove programs' tool

How do I go about removing references to software that is no longer on my PC but still appears in the 'add/remove programs' tool in control panel?

Mostly it is software I have deleted manually for one reason or another, and I would like to tidy up the wizard so that only programs that it can remove are listed.

Run a registry cleaner:

RegScrubXP click here (XP and 2000)

EasyCleaner click here (Other)

I use X-Setup Pro click here , which includes the ability to selectively delete items from the list, along with hundreds of other tweaks you can make to your system.

Some of which are very usefull.
