Hi, I have re-installed XP home after having lots of problems with the original setup. However now on start up there are two options for selecting xp home. the second doesn't work and I have to wait the 29 seconds or select the first.
My question is: How can I remove the sencond XP so it wiil automatically start. Hope someone can help as am a total beginner to this computing lark.

Hi again. On checking the above advice it says both partitions do not refer to a valid operating system !! but the first one does start XP. Is it safe to remove the second partion ?

I do not think the second is on a separate partition. It sound as if an install was started and interrupted and another clean install was completed alongside the first attempt.

Bight the bullet and start over again if this is the case?
