Removing corrupted index.dat file explorer 6

I am having problems with Norton's 2003 Clean Sweep

It is not clearing all the files in internet history when you use fast and safe clean up.

I have checked out Symantec Support and they recommend deleting the Index.dat file in Internet Explorer as it has become corrupted and to contact Microsoft on how to do this.

I have tried contacting them but without success.

I wonder if anyone knows how to do this ?

Look in the folder "Temporary Internet Files" and you should find a folder called "Content.IE5". Rename this folder to "deleteme", reboot the machine, Windows will create a new folder and the old one is no longer protected and can be deleted.

Many thanks for the advice I did what you sugested and downloaded Cleanup 3.1 and it seems to have done the trick , very quick too.
