in computer active issue 445, you give instructions for removing Bing and IE from a new computer. Does this also apply to my five year old HP Pavilion Slimline pc using windows7 and Mozilla Firefox. I never use IE.

IE was part of Windows but I think if you go to Uninstall or change a program/turn Windows features on or off you can remove the tick this will disable IE but not sure if it will completely remove it. You should be able to remove bing from Add or change a program.

You don't have to 'get rid' of IE, just turn off via Windows features as per BRYNIT says or just don't use it if you don't want to. Article ClickHere By the way this is PCAdvisor not 'Computeractive' ;/
