i am running xp pro and wish to make my d drive which is a second hard drive removeable there is a option in 98 but none in xp any ideas how i do this? thanks

What was the option in Win98? I don't quite understand it...

You can get a caddy into which to place the disk and make it removable.

in 98 if you right clicked your hard drive properties there was an option that said make drive removeable if you did this then you could remove the hard drive when system is still switched on if you went o my computer it would say d drive then undernaeth it would indicate removable what i can see xp will only say it is removeable if it is connected by usb firewire etc when both drives on a ribbon master and slave i want the slave drive removeable

OK - I don't know of a way of hot plugging ide drives in windows.
