I have a Iomega Zip drive installed which I no longer use. Can I just take this out and replace it with a DVD writer by using the same cables that are connected to the Zip drive ? Is it that simple ?
I use Win XP Home SP1 and already have a DVD read only Drive and CDRW drive installed.

It all depends on how the Zip drive is connected - if via ide cables then no problem.

Probably easiest to open up and have a look if the connection on the back of the zip drive is the same as the one on the DVD writer.

If you have only one hard drive, you should still have the option to add a third optical drive.

Thanks..I am sure it is IDE. Will have a look when I get home. I only have one hard disk
