I am running ME, and have a Sandisk 6-1 reader and a Kodak dx6440 camera. When I attach the cardreader, the drives appear in explorer, but no icon appears to safely remove. If I disconnect the reader and replug, I get another 4 drives in Explorer.

The icon used to appear, and may have disappeard after installing the Kodak Easyshare software.

Trying to download pictures gives the message "Card not fornatted" but I can see all the pictures when reviewing them thru the camera.

Any ideas how to get the "REmove Icon" back

Insert your Windows Disk, go to Start>Run Type: SFC /scannow which will restore any damaged files.

Or try plugging the card reader in again, then use Add/Remove Hardware, see if you can ultimately get to the "Unplug or Eject hardware" window. There should be option boxes to tick - including Show unplug/eject icon. Tick that, and click OK or Close.
