One of my flock has installed Thunderbird.
Now gets a Password demand- though she said was not aware of activating this feature.
However it seems that she entered the only password she uses and got back
'faild to connect to POP3 ......
So where is Thunderbird looking on her machine or her ISP server?
Better yet how to dispense with it all together?

Having asked her to send me a message- she did and it came through OK, so it does seem a mail download problem

Has she ticked the box in advanced settings that requires the incoming server to use a secured socket layer connection (SSL)?

Thunderbird may have found the original Administrators password, presuming there was one? As for getting rid of Thunderbird Control Panel> Add Remove Programs> Uninstall.

As an alternative, I can recommend Incredimail, it's all singing, all dancing and best of all Free. click here

That is Start>Control Panel>Add Remove Programs> Uninstall

Uninstall seems an ultimate option
Will do that when I get to see her
As for Incredimail- The good lady is 86 and as bright and as sparky as she is - wears kinky fashion and drives a Yellow/Black Mini Cooper- I do not think that Incredimail is her scene..
