Remove need for password

  Nero6 09:02 06 Oct 05

I am running XP Pro and when I boot up my computer I get a request for a Password.
I am the only person using this computer and therefore a password is not necessary.
How can I by-pass this requirement?

Start, Run, type

control userpasswords2

and click OK.

Untick Users must enter a username and password to use this computer.

Hello VoG,

I have followed your instructions but when I shut down the computer and re-booted I was presented with a clear desktop except for the Recycle Bin and an offer to take a tour of XP. In other words I was back to when I first installed the O.S.
I had to use System restore to get back to where I was before but of course I am still asked for a Password.

Any ideas please?
