Remove McAfee Security Centre

  Dannyb 21:41 01 Jan 09

I have just bought a new laptop which had McAfee Security installed and which I didn't want. I uninstalled it using "My Uninstaller" but I am left with a grey box with a red cross in it in my notification area (bottom right of the screen). There is no option to close it and it just says, McAfee Security Centre: Your computer is not protected" when I hold the cursor over it. It doesn't do anything if I double click or right click it. How can I cleanly remove it? I have Windows Vista installed.

I forgot to say that I do not have the McAfee disk to re-install it.

Thank you chaps. I followed and used the link Sea Urchin gave and it worked brilliantly.
