Remove the banner during IE8 startup

I want to remove the irritating 'Learn about....IE8' banner displayed by default whenever the IE8 is opened. Thhis banner doesn't stop even if you go through it.

Maybe try Tools.Internet options.Advanced and press reset.
That resets Internet Explorer to its original state.
It will ask you to go through all of the questions again but this time it may go away.

Is there an option to 'Display this message every time IE starts'?

Consider switching to Firefox click here and make it the default browser.

Hi lotvic that firs click here of yours looks promising.
Not a lot of help for it on Google.
It used to be easy enough with IE7.
IE9 coming out soon so I wonder if that will bring more problems.

I am sure there is a box to tick "Don't show me this again" If I remember rightly
