Hi,

My PC has broken and my friend has gave me his laptop. He has put a username and password on system and I would like to remove it as I am the only person who will be accessing the unit.

I have the username and password, but can't be bothered logging on each time.

It is the standard windows login and not the XP login scree (with icon) option.

The laptop is running Xp, thanks

1. Click Start and Run
2. Type "Control Userpasswords2" and press enter.
3. Uncheck the box for "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer."
4. Click Apply and Ok.

Hi,

Done as you said, but the box was unchecked already.

I running XP Pro and not home if that makes a difference, thanks.
