Hi

Has anyone got any advice on setting up remote desktop in windows xp pro.

I want to use remote desktop over the internet.

any suggestions please, i use a 3com office connect adsl router to connect to the internet, i am aware i may need to alter some settings in this to make remote desktop work.

I have installed IIS and the remote desktop utility, also i do not have a static IP address, but am i right in thinking this does not matter, as long is i check my ip address on aregular basis.

any suggestions please, would be much appreciated

cheers

This may help click here
Unless you're using IIS for something else, as far as I know it doesn't need to be installed for RDC to work

thanks for that reply, i was reading last night about accessing my host computer, via a web interface, using Internet explorer, by typing

Is this method different from using client software for remote access?

cheers

and it's very intuitive and easy - minimum setup - the only problem you have to pay but, if you want this professionally it might be suitable.

They will give you a free trial as well.
