Remote assistance via messenger

Hi. I've been trying to connect to my daughters computer via messenger. I get as far as accepting the invitation, and her pc shows invitation is accepted, but nothing else appears to happen. I think I'm actually getting sounds from her pc, but no video. Any suggestions? Sending an invite via a floppy disk option works - but messenger would be easier if I could get it work.

firewalls?

Yes, we are, both Zonealarm. However, even shutting these down gives the same result. I can connect via sending a file by email or floppy, but not Windows Live messenger. I guess I'll put up with these, but it would be good to resolve the problem anyway just in case something else is amiss!
