Hi,
I would like to know how to format a hard drive,
(that is running windows xp pro) and reinstall windows xp pro.

All you need do is insert the XP CD into the drive and follow the instructions that come up on screen according to what you want to achieve. Note carefully that EVERYTHING will be lost in your current setup.

First pop that Win Pro CD in the CD drive...

Now restart your computer and tap the F8 key...

You will now be in the BIOS, try and and find what is known as the boot sequence. BOOT...
Usually the CD drive, floppy drive and the hard disk will be seen...using the pageup and page down navigate to the floppy drive and hard drive and set them to disable.

There should be a EXIT use the ESCAPE key and it should ask you to save the change. Choose yes...

Now when you restart, your computer will look for the CD drive and the CD in that draw...

There will be a little message that appears saying "press any key to continue" press any key to contine to the setup options...

Just read what Winodws XP, its very easy to understand...
