Hi, Yesterday I decided to restart my computer after couple of days. On doing so, returning to the logon menu I had a problem which kept me from logging on. SO I reloaded all my system files of the windows xp pro cd. Now after the reload, the computer worked fine, but I had some registry problems and my computer wouldntlet me connect to broadband (BT Openworld). I kept getting a RAS capable device wrror (speed touch modem). So I contacted BT open world. They told me that it was a mistake by Microsoft and that when you reload the cd, in some cases it will cause the registry to mess up, but there was a FIX. SO after around 5 hours yesterday of sorting it out and trying to find the fix, i gave up and tryed today. Unfortunatly again I couldnt find it and Microsoft lines are closed and all the people I have asked also dont know.
Pls any 1 know where I can get this REGISTRY RAS FIX.

Are you sure it's a registry problem ? Have you checked in device manager that there are no yellow question marks ? Have you tried re-installing your modem ?

If BT knew there was a fix did you not ask them what it was??

What I had to do was download Windows XP Service Pack 1a and after that it was auotmatically sorted. As simple as that.
