I have followed the instructions precisely to resister the program but it toally refuses to accept the registration No9C64-2EA0-5B42-F6F0-DDEC-BDB5-44D6-AE1F: Does any body know why???

FYI, I used Registry Mechanic 5.0 last Thursday and had to use System Restore to get my PC back to how it was. Then then I read this thread:

Opened my eyes - and when I read the 'click here' on that posting I became even less impressed. I have now removed RM & downloaded the free Easy Cleaner & am so impressed that I made a *voluntary* contribution.

Get the magnifying glass out and check for 5/S, B/8, etc.

I downloaded Registry Mechanic about 12 months ago and used the key provided without any problems at all. I use it about once a month (along with all the other clean up tools) and it seems to work well.

I paid $40 (about £27) for Registry Fix and am pleased with it, especially as it automatically creates a backup of the registry.

Use it about once a month and it finds and deletes a lot of bumff safely.

I also have to speak in defence of this program, have used it for a couple of years now (paid for version)with now problems and tech support is excellent, now on version and I use it once every couple of weeks.
