I make several tweaks to the registry over the years and lately when I tweak the registry it keeps changing back to how it was before. All I could think about is does cc cleaner amend the regisrty to how it was before the amendments.

CCleaner only removes old strands that it knows to be unused. It does not change settings and it's unlikely to look at any strands that you may have created.

have you got system restore on when you tweak it?

Have you restored a checkpoint that has taken you back before you tweaked it?

No I have not used system restore. Its like I have ammended the speed up start menu in the registry. I change it and after a few days its back to what it was before I ammended it.
