registration entries

i have just noticed a file with back up registry entries on my c/drive have opened with notepadand it says windows registry editor version 5 i dont know where they came from can i delete them thanks leo

windows 2k and xp both use version 5 of regedit.exe i believe so if you have ever exported or backed up the reg then this is the file you saved and should have a .reg extension.

clicking it will ask you if you wish to import the information into the registry.opening it with notepad will say "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" and then list the data you saved.

have you ever backed up the registry using 'file/export'? if so and everything is working well then you can delete this backup file.
