Registering domain names with US registrars

I'd like to register bulk domains and i was wondering if there's any problems with registering with US registrars. I was thinking of this because obviously i would get a lot of domain names for my money than i would registering with a UK company as the pound is stronger against the dollar.

Is this allowed? Has anyone does this? If so, can anyone recommend the best or reputable US registrars to go for?

with the registration process - there's certainly no legal reason why you can't register names with an american registrar, but.......

1. You'll almost certainly pay in dollars, and your bank may charge you a conversion fee.

2. You'll have to accept that any dispute must be resolved under US federal law, and/or the laws applying in the state in which the registrar is based.

This is a well-known multiple registration company
