I need help on reformatting a hard drive as I haven't done it before! Brother-in-law has aquired 2nd hand PC. Keeps crashing at the moment.
Using Win98SE as O/S. Is there a fairly easy way to reformat and start again with a relatively clean disk???

Any help gratefully received.

you need aboot disc, after you start the PC from the boot disk it will leave you at a: prompt type 'formet c' without quotation marks, it will warn you that you will lose all data ondrive C say yes and it will start say no and it will close, after formatting it will then ask you to select enter. reboot PC with boot disk in add cdrom of operating system this time from prompt type 'setup' and it will re-install operating system
