I have a freecom usb hard drive that was formatted in a file system thats not compatable with windows. It was done by using it with a linksys network storage link.

When I connect the drive to my pc direct, it recognises that there is a device connected ie it in the device manager and is "working preperly" however it does not show up as a drive in "my computer".

How can I reformat the usb drive so that it performs as another drive, like it should?

Is it visible in Control Panel, Aministrative Tools, Computer management, Disk Management? If so you should be able to right click and select format.

Thanks Mr Big Elf. I never knew that you could do that! I've just reformatted the drive and we are now all working again. Thanks very much.
