Reducing to one user account only in XP

A friend with WXP has asked me to reduce the number of his user accounts to one. He has one account called by his name and another called Administrator. Both have administration rights. Can I safely delete the account called Administrator from the control panel? His aim is to eliminate the initial logon chore at startup. Neither account has a password. I have deleted redundant accounts before for friends, but I am bit wary about deleting one called Administrator.

NO!!! Do not delete the Administrator account.

If he just wants to get straight in then Start, Run, type

control userpasswords2

and click OK. Untick ' Users must enter a username and password to use this computer'. When prompted for the account enter

If his user profile becomes corrupt he will need to boot in safe mode to the Administrator account to effect a recovery.
