Redten internet offer of free computers, sounds too good to be true? It is.

First of all, you will be tied to a three year contract which is very, very expensive to get released from.

Secondly, the actual application process is not as straight forward as it seems. You fill in all the boxes requesting your "add ons" and then just as you place your order, "you will now have to complete a credit application." It is not a contracted service as per the normal, you actually have to teke out a loan for the FULL three year service in advance!!!

This has serious implications for cancelling. As it is a loan agreement, the finance companies cancellation policy is in ADDITION to the REDTEN policy. YOU MAY HAVE TO PAY TWICE FOR CANCELLING.

Finally, if you get "declined" from the credit company, you will have to pay the three years up front with an administration charge!!! And if you think that hurts, if you are a homeowner, the finance company "sells" your details to other finance companies and you will get an endless stream of calls and junk mail.
