Red and black wires interchanged on new PSU

This was a subsidiary question I put on another thread. Any thoughts please - could it be that the standards are different?

"I am connecting some of the leads back in and I notice that the red and black wires are sometimes the other way round from the original PSU - i.e. the plugs will only go in one way and cannot go in the other way up to leave the wiring colours as they were. Is that OK?"

If plugs only go one way then don't mess with them.

Not all manufactures colour code wires the same but plug wiring should be standard.
