windows xp pro.Nortons 2003 pro anti virus. How do I disable the Nortons protected recycle bin and put it back to a normal recycle bin, also when I double click on my hard drives in my computer I get the search page appear what has happend.

Different set-up to yours, but try right-clicking on the bin and select properties.

In the bad old days when I used McAfee, I ignored their takeover of my recycle bin (which didn't work properly anyway - I couldn't afford to wait all the time it needed to "destroy" the files) by clicking on the file menu (top left of screen) and using the Windows empty facility from there. Don't know whether it would work on yours but, give it a go.
