i was having a few problems as of late so i decided to do a recovery, i back up most of my files so it wasn't a problem, needed something to do lol so to speak, when i loaded my disc for a very short time it came up loading windows 98 ( i run xp by the way )and the recovery screen, DETAIL, BAD SECTORS, RESTORE ETC, whatever one i pressed on it came up with unable to communicate with ATA controller or something like that and i couldn't do anything at all, i decided for the hell of it to press F8 as it was booting up and it came up with windows 98 safe mode screen ( this wouldn't allow me to do anything ).

i booted one last time and used the disc again and this time when i pressed on restore it started doing exactly that, restoring my computer, so have a got an 98 recovery disc here and if so how on earth could it refuse to work one minute and then works fine the next, and if it is the wrong disc how could it of got me back to windows xp without any problems, bit confused here.
thank you guys
