I am attempting to recover my system after a virus i think has crippled it, not allowing the system to start up properly. however when I press F10 to recover the system the following screen appears:

"Edit Boot Options" with the following text:

Edit Windows boot options for: Microsoft Windows Vista

Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe

Partition: 2
Hard Disk: b8f0ffa4

[ /NOEXECUTE=OPTIN
]

So what happened to the CDs?

Looks like the MBR is corrupt. Try Seagate tool Seatools to see what that says about the Partition Information. It will Read Generic Drives if it's not a Seagate click here
You need the DOS version

I have the cds but the system doesn't startup, with the error message "Logon process initializtion failure" coming up no matter what so i can't get on the internet. the only option is to recover the system but i can't even do that!
