Unfortunately I deleted an item on basis thought would go to the prullenbak, but no, it did not.
On searching hard disk it came up as
C:\WINDOWS\PreFetch.
How can I retrieve
Thanks DES NL

I think we need more information.

Are you trying to recover a file from a floppy disk?
or from your hard drive?

What is the name and type of file?

PS
I'm not suggesting you run their scan. Just read what they have to say.

Please disregard my two previous posts. All you could ever wish to know about 'PreFetch' files click here

By the way what is 'prullenbak'?

There are no "real" files in the Prefetch folder, only stubs or pointers to actual files.

Run Recuva - download the portable version to a flash drive, and run it from the flash drive to stop the activity overwriting the deleted file. click here
