My daughter has a new Packard Bell laptop and has been trying to make recovery discs as per instructions supplied.

The process fails with error code Ox207. I have googled the problem and it seems to be a well known issue with a number of fixes reported but no definitave answer.

Packard Bell Tech Support responded very quickly and gave her a number to call to claaim a set of discs. However they were trying to charge £50 for them !
This discussion goes on as she is not prepared to pay.

So have any of you managed to make Packard Bell recovery discs? Do you have a fix that worked?

I know it may sound daft, but check that she is using the correct discs, either CD, DVD, RW, +R, -R etc. Failing tghat, Acronis True image is very good!

Almost certainly needs to be DVD. Have you tried a different brand of discs?

She is using DVD +r.
I did think of trying DVD +r dual layer, any thoughts ?

Try -r. Dual layer may cause more problems.
