This follows on from the death of my computer detailed here:

I will plug the HD from the afected computer into another computer to acess it as a second HD and ry to recover my files. I was able to get all of My Documents out before it died but still need to recover a few more items, especially my Outlook emails stored locally and Outlook calendar.

Can anyone tell me where the Outlook local emails are kept and in what format, likewise the calendar.

Cheers, A

the outlook files are.pst files and are stored in the following location:
c:\documents and settings\your name ie ajliddle\local settings\application data\microsoft\ outlook
copy outlook or outlook.bak to a cd then when pc up and running copy this file back to you new hard drive.
I believe this file also contains your calendar but cant be sure have a look click here
good luck
