Recovering data from a RAID 0 config.

My PC is broke, but I am going to fix it ... some time.

In the meantime, I would really like to get at data I have on 2 HDDs that were being run in a RAID 0 configuration.

I would be grateful for any suggestions or recommendations for shops/companies (in the Oxford area) that might be able to help me out.

Thanks in advance.

When my striped RAID array failed I just replaced a disk and restored my data from a backup after recreating the array (and losing all the data on it in the process).

I've read but have had no personal experience that standard consumer PC's are very fussy about reading a RAID array and it's often not possible to read them in another PC or on another motherboard.

Depending on why your PC broke it may be cheaper to fix the problem and try to read the array from that unless it was the disk(s) that failed.

I've never heard of this company but they are based in Oxford click here

I've also read that this company provides a good service but they seem to be based in London click here

I will see what these two companies charge ... & then, as you advise, go ahead & just fix my machine anyway.

Thanks again.
