Recording from VCR

Is it possible to record to a CD from a VCR using a PC?

Yes. This is a popular question - someone should start a forum!

In a nutshell, it can be done, but money must change hands for software (and maybe hardware).

If it is a one-off, a wedding, perhaps, you may be better to take it to a commercial concern.

I gather the sound synchronization is just one of the problems.

Yes. You record from the VCR using a SCART to Phono lead plugged into either a USB device or a VIVO graphics card.

You'll need software to capture, edit and author.

You need a CD writer with software for MPEG2 burning.

Burn the files to SVCD format

Then you'll need a DVD player capable of playing SVDC's (most do this).

Post back if you want more specific detail.

You can also have a look at - its a dedicated forum
