Help please! Have been asked to sort out recording of some speeches tomorrow night (probably about an hour in total) to upload to a site later on- what's the best way to do the recording? Son says you can just attach mike to laptop and use built-in recording facility - but is there a limit to the length of recording on this? Do I need any special software?

Record with this; click here
Encode to 56kbps MP3 which is what BBC podcasts are encoded at, they sound fine. Try 128 at first if you
record and encode on the fly, rather than recording to .wav then converting. Record in mono to save half the filespace.
