I want to record the spoken word to my computer to add to an animation program. I have an old microphone with a 3.5mm plug. How do I go about recording what I say to the computer? I have Windows Media Player and Real player installed are they used?

I am not too sure whether Windows Media Player does what you want sharpeyes but Real Player may click here for further details.

There is also Photo Story3 that records voice for photo presentations. click here for a free download from Microsoft.
