recording problem

  Visu 08:13 07 Nov 07

My system configuration includes Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz E4400 processor, Intel D945GCPE motherboard, 160 GB Seagate HDD, 1 GB DDR2 RAM, LG DVD writer. OS is Windows Xp Professional SP 2.

I used recorder (from Accessories > Entertainment > Recorder ) to record with the help microphone as well as headphone. No recording happens. I do not know what is wrong. Is my motherboard faulty ? Is there any way to check ?

Is there any free third party utility available to record in Windows Xp ?

Kindly help me.

on board recorder does not need a mike, it might be a silly question but did you actually press record and did the display move as it recorded? also it would help to know what you are trying to recod and how.

After recording, when I play that file, no audio comes from any player (no voice comes)
