I am building a PC for a friend and he wants to record from his mini disc to his hard drive and then to cd, I will be using a creative sound blasterlive 5.1 sound card........By the way it is his own music as he is in a band and they want to make their first cd...........will the above sound card do the trick, he will mix the music with a seperate multi channel cassette, transfer to md and then wants to transfer to the Pc to finish off before saving to cd

you can use any sound card as they all have the "line in" 3.5mm jack.

He'll also need a 3.5mm - 3.5mm jack cable to connect the "headphone out" or "line out", whichever the MD player has, to the sound card "line in" jack.
