Recording DVD Movies

I have an Intel Pentium4 1.7GHz processor with WindowsXP Home Edition, Ricoh MP5125A DVD+RW/+R, Dazzle DVD Complete Deluxe and Roxio Easy CD Creator 6. I produced a home movie on a DVD+RW using PAL setting, but on playing the movie in my DVD Player the quality of picture is brilliant but the picture is very jerky as if the film cannot keep up with the speed of movement. I tried various solutions of updating the DVD driver but on the properties/device driver it keeps telling me that WindowsXP is managing the driver. Has anyone else have any experience of this type of DVD writer.
