I've had a computer for years and never had any problems but suddenly neither the pc or laptop will recognise the blank dv's or cd's i put in them!

I clik on properties for the cd and it say 0 free space 0 but their blank!

if i try to copy a photo onto the dc dvd it say prblem writing file!

Both drives in machines say re -writeable
the acer laptop say on my computer dvd ram- drive e
the pc says dvd rw-drive

i'm confused!

i want to transfer a windows movie maker file to a cd or dvd - any suggestions?

i've tried just photos and no luck - i tried the movie and with 2 minutes to go it crashed!

Two possible things:

A) Place the blank DVD / CD in the drive, right click the drives icon and choose "format" (you may have purchased unformatted media)

B) The media you have purchased is either faulty, or incompatible with your drive)(s)

i've had a look and i don;t get the option to format the disks.

I can play eject erase - it will not allow me to erase the disks either!.

these are disks with rw+. which i have recorded on previously

i'm lost and fed up! i hate it when things dont work!

the drives even tell me the dvd's are cds!

Your operating system? Make of DVDRW drive, If it's XP You can download xp burner pro free and erase the disks from there.

Possible that these disks have reached the end of their useful life, there is a limit to how many times you can use them.

Also, if you open device manager, click on the drives, and ensure that there are no yellow exclamation marks against them. If there are you will need to re-install the drivers for them.

Re transfer wmm file to dvd you have to >Save to my computer then select on the settings page tick other settings then select Dv-avi from the dropdown box you can then burn to dvd with Nero
