Recording and Burning Letters to CD

After a stroke my cousin can no longer read, so I came up with the idea of audio letters to her.

On my old computer bought in 2000 I had creative soundblaster and can remember recording and burning CD letters to a friend. My new Acer 1642 laptop running XP Home SP2 doesnt seem to have this facility.

Can anyone please advise if there is software which would enable me to make these audio letters. Or alternative advice on which line to follow.

Many thanks.

You could record your own voice "letter" onto a CD using Audacity click here
using a Mic connected to your computer.

Brilliant rawprawn. Downloaded and will now get to know how to use the program.

Thank you for the information.
